Challenges

  • One of the challenges of this project was epoxying the old floor. This was challenging as we had to grind the floor and remove some of the flooring due to its old age.
  • Another challenge was restructuring and refinishing the existing staircase. We had to make sure the existing staircase could take the tile finish and nosing properly.
  • It was challenging working while the facility was open, so we had to work around their schedule.
  • Lastly, the distance of going from Toronto to Hamilton everyday can be a bit of a challenge. But in the end the project turned out great and on schedule.

Standout Features of the Project

  • The standout feature of this project is a flooring. We were able to replace the existing damaged floor with a new epoxied floor.
  • All walls, floor, and hallways are waterproofed and equipped to handle the heavy use of the space.
  • All the millwork as well is made from heavy duty materials so that it can withstand more use in the environment and last longer.
